Stepped Pyramid of Saqqara
Home to the oldest stone monument in the world, the Step Pyramid, Saqqara isn't a place the tour buses visit, but was a much better example of an ancient Egyptian tomb. What made it even better was that it wasn't crowded.

It was easy to spot the tourists. As with most Middle East countries, we read that we should dress conservatively. Obviously, these people didn't get that far in their guide book.
